A simple way to find a local contractor
Demolition Sunshine Coast is a referral service for home owners, builders and property managers between Caloundra and Noosa. We are not a demolition company. Your enquiry goes to an independent contractor based near the job, who then calls to arrange a site visit and prices the work themselves. Sunshine Coast and Noosa are separate councils with separate planning schemes, so a contractor who knows your side of the boundary is worth finding. You deal with that contractor directly from then on, so ask to see licences and insurance before signing anything.

Do I need a permit to demolish a house on the Sunshine Coast?
Sunshine Coast Council lists demolition, including part demolition, as building work needing a permit, which a building certifier issues. Noosa is a separate council, so ask a certifier about addresses there.
Are you a demolition company?
No. We are a referral service that connects you with an independent local contractor, and the quote comes straight from them.
How much does demolition cost on the Sunshine Coast?
It depends on the size and materials of the building, asbestos, access, and what else needs to go. A contractor needs to see the site to give you a price. Our guide on what affects demolition cost explains the main factors.
What if my house has asbestos?
Homes built before 1990 may well contain it. Asbestos likely to be disturbed must be identified before demolition and, where reasonably practicable, removed. More than 10 square metres of bonded material needs a licensed removalist.
Which areas do you cover?
Caloundra to Noosa and across the hinterland, including Maroochydore, Buderim, Nambour, Coolum, Maleny and Montville.
Can I get a quote without being on site?
Often the first conversation can happen from photos, but a contractor will generally want to inspect before giving a firm price.
