Site Clearing & Excavation on the Sunshine Coast
Once a building is gone there is usually more to do: old slabs, driveways, stumps and overgrown ground. Describe your block and someone local can come and look.

Clearing what is left behind
Clearing can follow a demolition or stand alone. Typical work includes breaking out slabs and driveways, pulling old stumps, removing fences and retaining walls, and carting spoil. Concrete can often be separated and recycled rather than sent to landfill.
Excavation for a new build
Excavators cut pads, dig footings and trenches, shape batters and move fill. On a sloping block the site cut sets up the whole build, so your contractor will need the engineer's and builder's levels before they begin. Hinterland blocks around Maleny and Montville can bring steep access and heavy clay. Sandy coastal lots are easier to dig but can need more care near boundaries.
Vegetation and low lying land
Check the rules before anyone takes out trees. Vegetation protection can apply, particularly on larger or rural blocks, and your council can confirm what is allowed. On low lying land, the Sunshine Coast planning scheme also maps potential acid sulfate soils below 20 metres AHD, and that overlay can affect excavation and filling work. Your certifier or engineer will know if it is relevant.
Before you dig
Get underground services located first. A free Before You Dig Australia enquiry is the normal starting point, and your contractor should have the plans on site before excavation begins.

Site Clearing & Excavation — common questions
Can I clear trees from my block?
Check with your council first. Rules vary by location and property, and there may be protected vegetation.
Do you remove rubbish as well?
Building waste from the job is normally carted away as part of the quote. General household rubbish is a different service.
Got something coming down?
A few details are all it takes. Someone local will call to arrange a site visit, with no obligation.
